CE-Norm

CE standards harmonise regulations within the EU and make the free movements of goods possible. Devices marked with the CE identification are functional in a defined disturbed environment and do not impair the functioning of other devices as long as these comply with the same standards. For every device range, the corresponding measurements and a conformity declaration must guarantee that the CE regulations have been fulfilled.

This implies the following for our products:

Observation of the regulations on:

Interference immunity and emitted interference
with differentiation made in both cases for line-conducted and non-line-conducted interferences (magnetic fields, electrostatic discharges). These terms are also known as “EMC”.

Safety regulations
(low-voltage guidelines) for the protection of the user and the environment.

Our internal measuring laboratory has for years effected line-conducted measurements. Measurements of nonline-conducted emitted interference and immunity to radiated interference are carried out in external measuring
laboratories.

Differentiation as defined by the CE marking is made between:

Stand-alone units:
They have to comply with the above mentioned regulations and be fitted with the CE symbol, e.g. power supplies for laboratories, electronic loads, frequency converters, etc.

Built-in power supply units:
Enclosed construction type (housing or cassettes)
These devices fulfil the CE regulations due to appropriate measures, e.g. filters, modular design, screen protection.
The built-in units of our product range bearing the CE symbol are:

Range GTN, GTL (primary switched-mode power supply unit)

Range EG (linearly controlled power supply)

Serie GW, GWN, GWL (DC/DC Wandler)

Range GW, GWN, GWL (DC / DC converter)

Open construction type (open frames, p.c. cards, etc.)
These units fulfil the requirements with respect to EMC and screen protection only with some reservations. Nevertheless they can comply with the regulations if integrated in a complete facility which e.g. comprises of line filters, covers or housings. Yet, they cannot be fitted with the CE sign as an individual component. A manufacturer’s declaration on electric strength or standards complied with can be issued.
